Karl Maltesen

Born and bred in Denmark, Karl met his Kiwi wife Julie in Australia some 20 years ago and came to settle in New Zealand in 2001.  Always ambitious, it wasn’t long before Karl started his own Business as an Electrician in 2003 before becoming an Electrical Inspector and establishing a Metering and Inspection Company in Marlborough.

Accustomed to using quality products in Denmark, Karl felt there was a market for a range of quality, hard-wearing workwear here in New Zealand that better catered to the hard-working Kiwis tough working environment.  Daneunder Workwear was essentially born out of the ambitions of a “Dane living Down Under” who wanted to build a strong brand on a foundation of blended Kiwi and Danish Values – Resilience, Dependability, Comfort and Quality.

Karl and his team have field tested Daneunder Workwear samples over the past few years.  They have been tested and certified to meet both New Zealand’s certification requirements for Night and Day High Visibility Safety Garments (AS/NZS 4602.1:2001 & AS/NZS 1906.4:2010), the relevant European Norms (EN) as well as NFPA 70E, Standard for ARC Flash Protection.  They are tough, durable, stylish and comfortable.
